Price Action Trainer — Privacy Policy

Price Action Trainer ("the app", "we") is an educational price-action trading trainer. It teaches chart reading and trading discipline. It is not financial advice and never gives buy/sell signals. This policy explains what data the app uses and how.

1. We do not require an account

The app is offline-first. There is no sign-up, no login, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location. Your learning progress is stored only on your device.

2. Data stored on your device

Kept locally on your iPhone and never leaving it except as in Section 3:

• Lesson/module progress, streaks, and spaced-repetition schedule.
• Quiz, drill, and backtest results and your self-assessment answers.
• Journal entries and trading-plan checklists you write.
• Chart images, optional notes, and completed AI chart-analysis results you save.
• App settings (language, AI provider preference, etc.).

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this local data.

3. Network requests

The app makes outbound requests in four cases. None sends your name, email, phone number, or precise location:

• Market data: anonymous requests for public historical/recent candlestick (OHLCV) price data for the instruments you view.
• Optional AI explanations: when you open the AI Coach or the live-market analysis, the app sends anonymous on-device analysis context to our backend proxy, which forwards it to an AI provider for an educational explanation.
• Optional chart-image analysis: only when you choose this feature, the selected chart images (up to five per analysis session), their timeframe labels and optional note are sent through our backend proxy to OpenAI for analysis. We do not retain the images or note. The structured result may be cached for up to 24 hours solely so an interrupted request can be recovered, then is deleted. The images, note and final result remain in the app on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. We do not use this content to train our own models.
• Anonymous product analytics: the app sends privacy-minimized feature events to PostHog to understand onboarding and feature reliability. These events never include chart images, notes, AI results, names, email addresses or advertising identifiers.

We do not sell your data and use no advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. Purchases

Subscriptions, the one-time purchase, and optional image-analysis credit purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. To validate purchases and balances, RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and the App Store receipt / transaction info — not your name or contact details. 5. "Required reason" APIs

The bundled privacy manifest declares the system APIs and anonymous Product Interaction data used by the app. No data is used to track you across apps or websites.

6. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Data retention & your choices

• Local data lives on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
• Delete an AI chart analysis to remove its local image, note, and result.
• For purchase records held by Apple/RevenueCat, use Apple's account tools and the links in Section 4.
